Curbside Recycling Bin

All recyclables must be placed inside our recycle cart to be serviced.

METAL CANS AND FOIL

Wash clean; labels are OK. Aerosal cans must be empty–-throw away cap and nozzle.

GLASS

Clear and colored food or beverage glass. RINSE CLEAN, REMOVE AND THROW AWAY ALL CAPS AND LIDS. Labels are OK.

CARDBOARD

Flatten boxes, remove plastic wrap styrofoam & large staples. Labels are OK. Must be clean, no wax coated cardboard accepted. All cardboard must be flattened and cut down to fit in cart. NO EXCEPTIONS.

PLASTICS

Plastics #1 – #7 accepted. RINSE CLEAN, REMOVE, FLATTEN AND THROW AWAY CAPS AND LIDS. DOES NOT INCLUDE PLASTIC BAGS.

NEWSPAPER(including glossy inserts)

Including glossy inserts. Place in paper bag or tie in a bundle. DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS. DO NOT PLACE LOOSE NEWSPAPER IN CART.

BOXBOARD

Flatten boxes and remove all wax or foil liners and strips. (e.g. cereal boxes and juice cartons) DO NOT RECYCLE WAX COATED FREEZER BOXES.

MAGAZINES, CATALOGS AND PHONE BOOKS

Remove from plastic bags, remove rubber bands and plastic strappings.Place in recycle cart.

MOTOR OIL

We accept all pure waste oil in tightly sealed plastic containers labeled “USED WASTE OIL.” No water, antifreeze, gasoline, etc. mixed with oil.

DO NOT PUT THESE ITEMS IN THE RECYCLING BIN

  • All Styrofoam (e.g. packing peanuts)
  • Batteries
  • Greasy or dirty paper (e.g. pizza boxes, paper plates, napkins, etc.)
  • Scrap metal
  • Spiral Bound Notebooks
  • Hazardous containers (e.g. antifreeze)
  • Plastic bags
  • Pots, pans & silverware
  • Paint cans
  • Propane and helium tanks
  • Plastic caps & lids
  • Windows, doors & mirrors
  • Light bulbs, dishes & ceramics
  • Electronics
  • Tools, screws and hardware
  • Needles & medical waste
  • Plastic-coated or waxy paper
  • Books
  • Shredded paper

PLEASE DO…

    • Wash bin often
    • Co-mingle all recycle items in the bin except for newspapers which are to be bagged or tied prior to placing in the cart.
    • Place bin out the night before pick-up day.
    • If recycling is not prepared to the guidelines we reserve the right to refuse the recycling.
